Dear Fellow Members:

As another season draws to a close, I’d like to thank our staff for their fine work in operating the club for us all.

I have the following announcements to make:

Closing Day

Boats are to be out of the water November 2 by 5:00 PM.

Brackets must be removed from the floats. By that we mean the moveable portion, Any extendable brackets must be removed. The part affixed directly to the wood can remain if you wish. Fines will be issued for violations.

Gasoline Service

The last day gasoline will be available will be October 28.

Club Expansion

For more than a year now, we've been telling you about acquiring more land from the town, moving our fence back to the edge of the parking lot.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our local government has had the matter under consideration for 12 or more months. Would each of you please ask your local representative what's going on with this matter. (Please see attached list.)

We'd like to have an expanded deck and additional racks in place by next opening day, but we can't move ahead without additional land.

Annual Meeting

Our November General Meeting is our Annual Meeting which has traditionally been our Dinner Dance. Since we had our Dinner Dance as a wonderful clambake, thanks to Entertainment Chairman Tom Hanson, we will serve refreshments at the General Meeting on Monday, November 10, starting at 8:00 PM at the Piedmont Association. Tom Hanson has arranged to have beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres to make the occasion festive. We will be welcoming the new slate of officers into office.

Finally, since this will be my final Newsletter, I’d like to say thanks for granting me the privilege of serving as Commodore.

Sincerely,

Bill Nolte, Commodore
