Dear Fellow Members:

Well, here we are into the month of July with a mid-season party coming up on the 18th. We had a great turnout on the rain date party, thanks to all who helped make it a success.

Al Metayer, the Mooring Chairman, would like to thank all of you who had your boats in their slips on time, making this one of the easiest years for him.

Past Commodore Vin Burke headed up an investigation on defibrillators. After a demonstration to the Executive Board, it was decided to purchase one for the Club. Several key personnel will be trained on its use. Additionally, the unit has self-use instructions built into it. Look for it at the Club soon.

John Keena, our Rear Commodore, is continuing work on the membership list which will be published soon. Contact him directly or via the website to get your listing in.

Vin Burke reports that if you are looking for a mooring now is the time to get on the Harbormaster’s list as the waiting list is the shortest it has been in many years.

The deck expansion project continues on its way through the paperwork. It has been approved by the P&Z and the Board of Appeals. Now it must be approved by the Department of Environmental Protection. Many thanks to Mike Cassone who has been instrumental in processing all of the paperwork.

The land issue still is ongoing to the best of our knowledge. We were visited by the Selectman’s committee to review the porch and land expansions. No definite answers to date on the land. If you know your local town representative, it would be advantageous to the Club if you talked to him/her about letting us add the land. The Park & Recreation people want the Club to manage the area where boats are stored to go out to moorings. We have offered to monitor this if Park & Rec will set up a system to control it.

Hope to see you all at the Club and have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Tom Williams, Commodore
