Dear Members,

It’s been a while since we published an update as there hasn’t been a lot to tell. We hope members have had a chance to come by the club and have been able to use the limited facilities.

There is now a water fountain available for use in the center of the club building. The final parts for the pump out station have arrived and been installed, the unit is back on line

A great deal of time has been spent trying to get the existing deck pilings recertified, unfortunately concrete spalling underground has been discovered and they cannot be used for rebuilding the deck. New designs due to the new flood plain codes and velocity 8 storm surge requirements, for both pilings and decking, are being worked on by our Professional Engineering Group.

A number of preliminary drawings and material ideas have been presented to the board, and we are reviewing our options. Once the plans are finalized we will need to go again to the Town Building Dept. and have the plans approved then go out to bid for pricing.

All of this has taken more time than we had anticipated. We believe that since we will have to replace most if not all of the currently exposed concrete pilings that construction will not start until the end of season when we can safely get heavy construction equipment in front of the Club house.

In the meantime we hope you’ll use the tables and chairs out front and on the beach area as well as the back deck. The grills are out and may be used.  Please be considerate of others and share the space.

Remember that we still do not have an Ice Machine or Soda Machine.

Please keep an eye on the children. The storm pushed around the boulders so we request no climbing.

Please be patient as we strive to replace the deck with one that is not only safe, but as storm proof as possible.

Because of space limitations and lack of refrigeration we are cancelling the July picnic.
