Dear Members,

The Town of Darien has granted a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) for the new ramps, contingent upon the addition of a nonskid coating on the south ramp.  The adhesive will take 24 hours to dry, so we are happy to announce that the Club will be open to accept boats and hardware (Frog Hooks) on the docks starting this Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 5 pm.  Outside of those hours the Club House will be locked, and the docks will not be accessible.

All Slip Holder Paperwork (2013/14 Registration, Insurance, and Slip Holder Agreement ), must be received by the Fleet Committee before boats can be placed on the dock!

A note will go out shortly regarding Kayaks, the dingy chain and lockers.

AGAIN: Here’s what to expect when we allow boats on the docks.

New carts are on order (but not delivered yet) to replace those lost or destroyed by Sandy. It may make sense to bring your Frog hooks, etc. from the Town launching ramp dock by boat. Otherwise you must walk them up and through the building by hand. No carts (when delivered) can be brought through the building; there will be carts on either side.

There is no Ice or Soda machine, and we are following up on this.

There is water on the docks and the rest rooms are open.

The pump out station is not operational yet.

There is no gas currently available yet, as the test results have not been returned.

We continue to work with our Professional Engineers and the Town on the restoration of the deck, and we will keep you posted.

Also remember that footwear is required to be worn at the club all season long, including the public areas, and especially on the beach and in the shallow waters.

The Executive Committee
