The Season has finally arrived and I’m please to say we’re open for business and here’s what’s going on…. 

RECONSTRUCTION

The gas line has been repaired and the kayak racks are now fully accessible. We will continue to make minor improvements/additions as we go forward that will include such items as ice and soda machines, outdoor shower, and additional deck furniture.  Thank you for your cooperation as we proceed. 

LAUNCH SERVICES

The launch is currently available to all paid mooring customers in the Darien Harbor.  Hours of operation have been posted at the club as well as the DBC web site: http://www.darienboatclub.org/launch_schedule.htm  

NIGHT WATCHMAN

24 hour security is now in effect.. 

FINANCIAL AUDIT

 At the May General Meeting, a 2014 Financial Audit was approved consistent with our By-Laws and will be performed before year end by Jim O’Brien, C.P.A. and long time DBC member. 

NEW POSITION

It was announced at the May Meeting that Paul Johnson will fill the newly created position of Community Relations Chairperson and we ask that you support Paul in his new role. Paul has added the DBC to the world of social media, visit the DBC on Facebook at  Facebook.com/DarienBoatClub

NEW COMMITTEE

Additionally, at the May Meeting it was agreed that Joe Lopiano will head a committee to  review the current practice of ‘First come / First serve’ for the deck tables/chairs usage and also make recommendations to control Non-member use of the facility….Tom Lochtefeld, DBC Treasurer, has volunteered to help in this effort. 

KEY DATES IN JUNE

  • Season Opening Picnic…Sunday June 8th at 1pm

  • All boat slips must be occupied by Sunday June 15th to avoid a fine.
