The Season has finally arrived and I’m please to say we’re open for business and here’s what’s going on….
The gas line has been repaired and the kayak racks are now fully accessible. We will continue to make minor improvements/additions as we go forward that will include such items as ice and soda machines, outdoor shower, and additional deck furniture. Thank you for your cooperation as we proceed.
The launch is currently available to all paid mooring customers in the Darien Harbor. Hours of operation have been posted at the club as well as the DBC web site: http://www.darienboatclub.org/launch_schedule.htm
24 hour security is now in effect..
At the May General Meeting, a 2014 Financial Audit was approved consistent with our By-Laws and will be performed before year end by Jim O’Brien, C.P.A. and long time DBC member.
It was announced at the May Meeting that Paul Johnson will fill the newly created position of Community Relations Chairperson and we ask that you support Paul in his new role. Paul has added the DBC to the world of social media, visit the DBC on Facebook at Facebook.com/DarienBoatClub
Additionally, at the May Meeting it was agreed that Joe Lopiano will head a committee to review the current practice of ‘First come / First serve’ for the deck tables/chairs usage and also make recommendations to control Non-member use of the facility….Tom Lochtefeld, DBC Treasurer, has volunteered to help in this effort.
Safe Boating and Regards,
