Dear Members, 

Spring has happily arrived and the Boat Club is now accepting boats on the docks, as well as kayaks and canoes on the racks. 

There will be a General Meeting on Monday May 7^th at 8:00pm in the main hall of  The Piedmont Club. 

We will have 3 guest speakers at the General Meeting: 

Eric Johnson from Westport Outfitters...Spring Fishing: Tips and Tactics 

Scott MacNiven from the Darien Police Marine Division 

Tom Bell, Darien Harbor Master 

Jim Baker, his crew, and contractors have worked extremely hard, and the Club is in great shape and getting better every day. The ramp and deck damaged from the tropical storm have been repaired. The damaged gas dispenser has been replaced, and updated environmental protection devices have been added.  Art Morris, Phil Raymond, and their contractors have hooked the Club up to sewer services(we are no longer on septic tank) and we now have a holding tank 'pump out station' on the dock. The over head power and communications lines are now under ground and upgraded. Last but not least, the kayak racks have been repaired or replaced.

Our Entertainment Chairman Martin Milewski has set the following event dates:

Season Opening Picnic – Sunday, June 10, 2012

Mid Season Picnic – Sunday, July 15, 2012 

Lobster Clam Bake – Saturday, September 15, 2012 

Season End Picnic – Sunday, October 7, 2012 

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of one of our Past Commodores, George Eaton.  George was a true leader, friend, and proud member of the DBC and he will be greatly missed.
