Dear Members:

The Club has been put to bed for the Winter and we hope you all had a great season. A few items to inform you / remind you of:

1)      The new slate of Officers was elected on November 8^th at the Annual Meeting.  They are:

2)      Please look out for, and take some time to fill out the on-line survey which will come by e-mail.  We value your feedback and will listen to any constructive feedback to make the Club better.  Remember the Club is run by volunteers -- if you think up an event, then let us know, and volunteer to help us execute it!  If we like the idea, we’ll support you as best we can. 

3)      There will be a tree lighting at the Club on December 15^th, from 6-8pm.  We look forward to seeing you and sharing some holiday cheer.  Santa has promised to come by Firetruck at 6:30 sharp and the Ship's Store will be open for last minute gift ideas.  Come join us for some eggnog, hot chocolate, and cookies. 

4)      In late December, look out for an e-mail announcing that bills are available to download and pay via the Online Mooring website.  The site is here: http://my.onlinemooring.com/DarienBoatClub/ and you can log in with your e-mail as “Login ID” and your password.  If you don’t have a password or forgot your password, you can reset the password by selecting the “forgot your password” link.  Remember that as per Club Bylaws, the deadline to pay the yearly dues and fees is February 1.  Please pay as soon as possible to avoid accidentally missing the deadline and losing your membership and privileges. 

5)      This would be a really good time to check on, and freshen up your contact information if it has changed by logging into the Online Mooring website above.  Make any required edits by clicking the “VIEW” button to the right of “membership” under “My applications”.  You’re advised not to use a work e-mail as more firms block non work e-mails these days and people switch jobs. 

6)      Just a few words about the Club Infrastructure.  We are completing the re-decking of “D” dock, and we are getting quotes now on reinforcing the foundation of the Clubhouse as well as replacing the back deck.  These improvements will serve to keep the building in good shape for years to come. 

7)      Finally, this year we are soliciting yearend gratuities for our Club Manager Bill Lowitz.  If you haven’t remembered Bill already this year, we encourage you to please remember him in your Holiday giving.  Bill does a great job of staffing and keeping the Club running smoothly.  You can send a check made directly to William Lowitz in the enclosed, addressed envelope, or if preferable you can pay by credit card online using Paypal, or directly online by Venmo using the e-mail address dbcbill@optimum.net
