Dear Members, This is a brief summary of recent DBC activities: RECONSTRUCTION Thank you for removing your boats, kayaks, chains and emptying your lockers by the November 3rd deadline so that work could begin on the deck reconstruction. As we stated at the Annual November meeting, our goal is to have the Club completely restored to pre - ‘Sandy’ conditions by the start of the 2014 Season. Again, for safety reasons, the Club will be "off limits" to all members & visitors during construction. NEW OFFICERS The following officers 2014 were elected at the Annual meeting: Commodore ….........Glen Osberg Additionally, at the Annual Meeting, Jim Baker retired and was recognized for his 15 years of outstanding service and was presented with a commemorative plaque and a 3 piece luggage set. KEY DATES FOR 2014 At the December Executive Board meeting the following key dates were booked: General DBC Meetings…….February 3rd Picnics…Season Open..........June 8 KAYAK/DINGY CHAIN/PADDLE BOARD AVAILABILITY It was pointed out at the September General Meeting that the wait lists for kayaks, dingy chain, and paddle boards have been significantly reduced , so please submit your applications if interested. HELP WANTED Consistent with DBC BY –LAWS, a Club Financial Audit will be conducted in 2014 and in that regard, please contact our Treasurer, Tom Lochtefeld at 203-219-4034 or email him at tomloch@yahoo.com with names of any DBC members who are qualified and willing to perform this function.
