Dear Members:

Thanks for a great season.  A few items to inform you / remind you of:

1)      The new slate of Officers was elected on November 7^th at the Annual Meeting.  They are:

Commodore - Tom Lochtefeld, Vice Commodore - Marty Milewski, Rear Commodore - Brian Lovegrove. Treasurer - Rob Komminsk, Financial Secretary - Colin Seely, Secretary - Tom Bell.  For those of you not there, you missed a nice cocktail reception with great food. 

2)      There will be no online survey this year, but please feel free to give us feedback good or bad to either the general mailbox darienboatclub@aol.com or to me at Commodore@darienboatclub.org. 

3)      There will be a tree-lighting at the Club on Friday December 14^th, from 5:30-7:30pm.  We look forward to seeing you and sharing some Holiday cheer.  Santa has promised to come by Firetruck at 6:00pm sharp and the Ship Store will be open for last minute gift ideas.  Come join us for some eggnog, hot chocolate, and cookies rain, snow, or shine. 

4)      In late December, look out for an e-mail announcing that bills are available to download and pay via the Online Mooring website.  The site is here: http://my.onlinemooring.com/DarienBoatClub/ and you can log in with your e-mail as “Login ID” and your password.  If you don’t have a password or forgot your password, you can reset the password by selecting the “forgot your password” link.  If you don’t get an e-mail from online mooring after doing this check your junk or spam mailbox.  Once you log in with the new password, immediately change it to something you will remember for next time.  Remember that as per Club Bylaws, the deadline to pay the yearly dues and fees is February 1.  Please pay as soon as possible to avoid accidentally missing the deadline and losing your membership and privileges. 

5)      This would be a really good time to check on, and freshen up your contact information if it has changed by logging into the Online Mooring website above.  Make any required edits by clicking the “VIEW” button to the right of “membership” under “My applications”, then hit the edit button.  You’re advised not to use a work e-mail as more firms block non work e-mails these days and people switch jobs. 

6)      Just a few words about the Club Improvements.  We finished the new fence over the summer, and we finished adding Pole-Mates around all of our pilings this Fall to help protect them from ice.  We plan to renovate the back deck this coming year, and finally, we are looking into new higher bar-style furniture for the 2019 season. 

7)      Finally, again this year we are soliciting yearend gratuities for our Club Manager Bill Lowitz.  If you haven’t remembered Bill already this year, we encourage you to please remember him in your Holiday giving.  Bill does a great job of staffing and keeping the Club running smoothly going above and beyond to help people.  You can send a check made directly to William Lowitz in the enclosed, addressed envelope, or if preferable you can pay by credit card or directly (using friends and family feature) online using Paypal, or Venmo and using his e-mail address dbcbill@optimum.net

I’d like to thank all of the volunteers that helped run the Club so smoothly this year and wish you and your families all the best this Holiday Season.
