The DARIEN BOAT CLUB plans to open on May 3rd, less than four weeks away and this is what’s happening: 

We are in the final stages of restoring the Club and the construction crews will need complete access to the Club House grounds.  Therefore the Club will not be able to accommodate any early kayak/boat arrivals.  The Club will officially open on May 3rd, but an email will be sent out and a date posted on the web site when kayaks and boats can be accepted if earlier than that.  Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding in this matter. 

There will be a DBC General meeting at 8pm on Monday May 5^th at the Piedmont Club and the key focus items will be:

A reconstruction update, nomination for the Auditing Chairperson, and various committee reports.  Additionally, we will have updates from the Darien Harbor Master, Tom Bell, and Scott Mcniffen of The Darien Police Department. If you have suggestions for other topics and speakers, please advise Glen Osberg ASAP at 203-921-6204. 

We are in the process of selecting a Public Relations Chairperson and a Dock Master and thank you for your input thus far. 

We are piloting a new service called ‘online mooring’.com to streamline the current process

for our members which will reduce the workload significantly. We will update you at the General Meeting and as we go forward. 

These are the Key Dates near term: 

May 5th….DBC General Meeting
May 1st….Copy of Boat Registration, Insurance, and Slip Holder Agreement signed & received
May 3rd.....DBC Opens
June 8th… Season Opening Picnic
June 15th...Boats must be in their assigned slips
