Dear Members, After a long winter, spring has finally arrived and the Darien Boat Club is ready for another season. The Dockmasters are accepting boats on the docks and kayaks on the racks. There will be a General Meeting on Monday, May 3 at 8:00pm in the main hall of the Piedmont Club. At that meeting we will provide an update of our dock expansion plans as well as an update on general matters relating to the Club. While boats are already being accepted our official Opening Day is Saturday, May 8. Please be mindful that your boat must be on the dock by June 15 in order to comply with Club By-Laws and the terms of your Slipholder Agreement. You otherwise risk forfeiture of your slip. If you have not yet submitted a copy of your boat registration and evidence of insurance, please do so. The deadline for submission of these documents is May 1st. Our Entertainment Chairman, Marty Milewski, has set the following dates for our 2010 social events: Season Opening Picnic – Sunday June 6, 2010 from 1-3pm Mid Season Picnic – Sunday July 11, 2010 from 1-3pm Lobster Clam Bake – Saturday September 18, 2010 from 6-10pm Season End Picnic – Sunday October 3, 2010 from 1-3pm We continue to increase the use of our website to communicate matters of importance so please check in from time to time at www.darienboatclub.org If you have changed your e-mail address, please let us know by sending an e-mail to DarienBoatClub@aol.com As always, I would like to wish all of our members a safe and enjoyable boating season.Sincerely,
