Dear Fellow Members:

Believe it or not, here we are scheduling midseason and end of season events:

Midseason Party August 29 at 1:00 PM.

End of Season Lobster Bake September 18 (application enclosed).

Please respond early, as there is limited space.

Enclosed is a sample letter that the Executive Board suggests you use or modify in our quest to obtain Park & Rec Department approval for the proposed land acquisition. Please forward it to your local representative or the First Selectman.

Several new safety items have been purchased and will soon be installed at the club:

(1) An emergency ladder had been installed at the end of "B" dock.

(2) A defibrillator has been purchased and will be in service by Aug. 22.

(3) Two new buoys marking rocks have been placed in the harbor. This was accomplished by a joint effort with the Darien Sail & Power Squadron and the Noroton Yacht Club.

The Executive Board would like to remind all members that children (21 years or older) who no longer reside with you must become members on their own.

It appears as though the deck expansion project has been approved by both the Town P&Z and the D.E.P. Plans are being made to complete the project this year.

The Executive Board is researching the use of fan bubblers to protect the pilings from ice. Anyone who is familiar with this process is encouraged to furnish ideas/comments by contacting Dave Dever at 323-7786.

Sincerely,

Tom Williams, Commodore
