Dear Members,
Spring is finally here, and all are working hard to have the Club ready for opening day.
A LIST OF DAYS TO REMEMBER
Clean-up Day.. April 28th
Opening Day .. May 5th General Meeting .. Monday, May 7th Opening Picnic.. June 3rd Mid-Season Picnic.. July 15th Lobster Bake Under the Tent.. September 15th End-of-Year Picnic .. September 23rd
Reminder: All boats must be in their slips by June 15th.
We will have guest speakers at our General Meeting on May 7th. Come hear two veteran local anglers discuss the tips/tactics and techniques of live bait fishing in and around Long Island Sound. Bait identification and specific rigging setups to increase your catch ratio will also be covered. This presentation will be short and sweet to leave the majority of time for asking specific questions on anything from fly fishing to live lining. They will also be bringing a host of their favorite lures and rigs to display.
Eric Johnson owns and operates Westport Outfitters located in Norwalk. After purchasing the store nearly two years ago, he is quickly redefining the sport of fishing in and around Fairfield County. Eric grew up on the banks of the Connecticut River and fished heavily out east as far as Montauk as a kid, as well as Plum Gut and the host of rips and reefs along the eastern Connecticut shoreline. After a stint in the West Indies (fishing), he got sidetracked in corporate America. Now that he is free, his passion has taken over and it shows.
Chris Eiser is a US Coast Guard licensed Captain with over 30 years of fishing experience. He grew up fishing most of our local trout streams and many saltwater estuaries in CT and NY. At the age of 6, Chris became fascinated with the challenge, lore and history of fly fishing and that grew into a passion that will last a lifetime. Chris is the newest addition to an ever-growing staff at Westport Outfitters. Whether it's casting to albies or live lining for trophy fall stripers, Chris consistently gets his clients into fish, whatever their preferred application or technique.

The Club is looking for someone to assist our Entertainment Chairman and to learn the process for future takeover. If interested, please call Tom Hanson at 203-912-4903.
There are a few things we need before boats are in slips:
1. a copy of your new registration, and 2. a copy of your insurance coverage.
Members holding Rack Spaces or Dinghy Chain Spots (kayak racks, sail racks or the dinghy chain) must have a Registration Sticker affixed to it. This rule DOES NOT apply to boats in slips. Please see Club Staff to register your watercraft and obtain a Registration Sticker. These stickers should be applied to the port side of your watercraft near the bow.
We are all looking forward to another good boating year!
Sincerely,
Phil Raymond Commodore
